Finalize a plan to cancel utilities before the next billing period

Put a pause on groceries and use up what is left in your pantry

Start packing items that are not frequently used (garage items, decorations, books, storage/shed, pots & pans, clothing)

Arrange the use of elevators and truck parking if moving to/from an apartment

Tie up any loose ends to such as last-minute shopping and laundry to relieve as much stress as possible, the week before your move will be busy

Arrange for any items to be kept in storage if needed before, during or after your move

Ensure you have taken time off work for your moving day(s)

Begin major packing (bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, closets and cabinets)

Disassemble bed sets, bookshelves, large tables and couches for ease of moving

Label each box clearly with its contents and designated rooms, create an online contents list to stay organized on what is packed and where

Arrange for utilities to be turned on at your new home upon your arrival

Arrange care for small children and pets for the move day

Towards the end of the week, engage in a full-house cleanup

Create an essentials box with toiletries, medications, basic kitchen supplies, tools and a change of clothes

Wake up early and meet your Spartan Movers!

Leave your phone number with a trusted neighbor so they can inform you of any mail delivered after you move

Accommodate for items that are not allowed to be moved by movers (aerosol, flammables, weapons, ammunition, propane, etc)

Valuables such as jewelry and important files should be packed and transported personally

Lock all your doors and windows before turning in your house keys to the appropriate parties

Do a final sweep of your home to ensure all items and loaded and accounted for
